| How can I become a teen model(petite)? I want to do petite modeling because im about 5"4. Im size 8ish and I think I'm quite pretty (not being vain, being honest lol). | It's always best to have someone in the buisness that you know but since you don't....let's start.. Find your nearest talent agency, or one that you think looks safe and up to date..Always check for the modelling agency you want to go to is registered not just a building claiming that it is... Once you go to the agency they will have a look at you maybe talk to you and get down all your details and then take pictures of you... They'll keep your files and pictures etc and then you'll just have to wait and be patient....You might not get a call for a long time or you might get a call straight away..It depends on how popular the agency is or if casting directors want a specific person from an agency or if they want a selection of models or actors etc... | There are all types of models, short and tall, full figured and twiggy, hand, face, foot, legs, hair, etc., etc.. Just start searching - - review all of the local and internet agencies and begin simply asking what they are looking for. You'll find one that best suits you. |

| I did a study on height and it is possible that your height would be ok for teen work. It also depends how old you look- if you look young and it suits your height then you could get work. It's more of an issue if you look older in your face and body, but your height doesn't add up to it. My major advice is to check out agencies carefully. Don't go paying money for things- reputable agencies shouldn't do that. | Thats how my girlfriend was at 18 because she is 5'2 when it comes to petite models there's not many agency's that have much work for them. You may find some that will take you on but they will have long times in between when it comes to calling for work because they have stuff for taller models. This is because once you turn 18 most photographers will look to mostly use you for glamour modeling because of your height. Your best bet is to get a photographer you trust and start taking glamour type shoots if you are comfortable with this. Mostly they will want you to wear revealing outfits, one or two piece lingerie which can range from full coverage panties to thongs and g strings. That goes for swim wear as well. The poses can go from sexy to implied nude to topless it all depends on what you are comfortable with, basically anything in a mens magazine and playboy is considered glamour. In my girls case her first paying job at 18 came from an online magazine that sent the photographer to her, they started in some fashion outfits with different back drops then moved into the lingerie. All of the lingerie was bra and g string and posed in her house on a bed or couch and eventually she went topless for each lingerie outfit. This was the same for the swim wear but not a lot of people come outside on her street so they shoot them outside. |

| Most of the those on your list don't really exist as careers. The reality is, almost all fashion related models are runway models, who happen to photograph well. The prettiest runway models become print models. So that would include High Fashion and Editorial. Commercial Print, Catalogue, and Runway. Those are all the same models doing that work. Maternity - are you pregnant? Teen - this stops at 14, maybe 15. Petite - obviolsuly not you; petite means short, not thin. But in reality, there is no such thing. There are short models, but there is almost no work for them. Convention - these are almost always girls who are too short to be real models. Same for Bikini and other "glamour" models Fit - how are your abs? Your biceps? Your glutes? You are too thin for fitness. Plus - Obviously not for you. Porn - Definitely |

| Before you do anything, you need to check your current contract. Do you have an exclusivity clause? Do you have a non-compete clause that prevents you from finding a new agency for a certain time after you leave your current agency? What sort of penalties are there for leaving your agency before the end of the contract? You could end up losing thousands of dollars if you don't read your contract carefully. If you are sued for breach of contract, the agency can sue you for the amount of money they expected you to earn through the end of your contract. At my old agency, one of the more successful models who left to go to a competitor was sued by the agency and forced to pay over $40,000 for breaking the terms of her contract Also, it would help if you at least mentioned where you live. It's no use recommending Wilhelmina or Ford if you don't live in a city where they have offices. |
